Dr. Bálint Jákli will assume a new professional challenge. Most recently as postdoctoral researcher at the IAPN and later on at the Section of Plant Nutrition and Crop Physiology of Göttingen University he investigated the co-regulation of assimilation and stomata conductance.
Dr. Bálint Jákli determines assimilation, stomatal conductance and photosynthetic water-use efficiency of nutrient-solution-grown sunflower plants. Measurements are performed using state-of-the art equipment, like the mobile gas exchange system GFS-3000 (Walz, Germany). (Photo: Daniel Jákli).
In this regard, he studied processes that limit photosynthesis under conditions of nutrient deficiency in order to integrate them into models on water-use efficiency. Besides, the young scientist developed remote sensing methods for just in time detection of mineral deficiencies in crop stands. We thank Bálint Jákli for his commitment at IAPN and the successful collaboration. We wish him all the best for his new position.
