Dr. Mehmet Senbayram took up the position of the Junior Professorship at Institute of Applied Plant Nutrition (IAPN) in June 2012. The professorship includes conducting and supervising a junior research group.

Dr. Senbayram holds a Ph.D. degree from the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, Germany. His Ph.D. study focused on the measurement and modeling of nitrous oxide emissions and carbon balances of soils during production of bio-energy crops.
Dr. Senbayram has a broad international experiences in plant nutrition, plant physiology and eco-system research. His research at IAPN focuses on strengthening and disseminating scientific background knowledge of the role of mineral plant nutrients in safeguarding and improving crop plant growth in water limited areas.
